US Airways has a new promotion for getting people to sign up for their US Airways Club-product.
You can use US Airways Club to access United and Star Alliance affiliated lounges when flying on Star Alliance carriers.
If you make the purchase by October 25, 2013, US Airways will waive the $50 initiation fee and gives you a $50 discount too. You will also receive 5,000 PQM’s (Premier Qualifying Miles) for purchases made by December 31, 2013.

The price of the US Airways Club is dependent of the status you have with the airline and if you would prefer having individual or joint membership.
Note that you will qualify for double award miles until November 17, 2013, as part of US Airways fall travel promotion (read more here), if you purchase or renew the Club membership.

If you are considering buying this product to access Star Alliance or United lounges, you should bear in mind that US Airways and AA are trying to merge. If the merger that DOJ is opposing succeeds, the airline will exit Star Alliance and enter Oneworld as part of American Airlines.
